Byron-Springbank Legion

Fund Raising

FUNDRAISING PROJECTS

The Byron-Springbank Legion was established in 1952. The expansion of the second floor took place in 1983 without the construction of an elevator. In May 2014, an elevator was installed. This was thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation $100,000 Grant, and the Federal Enabling Accessibility Fund’s $50,000 Grant. However, had it also not been for many donations from the Legion, the Legion members and friends, and the fundraising bricks purchased in the walkway, this project would never have been completed. The elevator increases the accessibility of its facilities to both its upper and lower levels for the benefit of Legion members, seniors and the Byron Community including those with disabilities both visible and non-visible. Approximately 70% of the 600 plus members of Branch 533 are seniors, and we want to better serve these seniors, Veterans, disabled persons and all Legion members and guests.
Have your name or that of a family member engraved on a stone on the walkway in front of the Legion building. Prices vary between $120 and $500 depending on the size of stone and how many lines are needed. To find out more about this contact the branch at 519-472-3300
