Turkey-Rama was held on Saturday and was a huge success. We raffled off 16 fresh turkeys and had a great time. Congratulations to the lucky winners and thank you to all of the volunteers. Sunday was our very first Music Makers Big Band Christmas concert in the banquet hall and everyone enjoyed themselves. The band was fantastic, and everyone raved about the charcuterie board and especially the Apple Bourbon jam that Joanne made. She will be busy making jam this week with all of the orders she received. Thanks to Sue for organizing a lovely event to kick off the holiday season.
Sales for Catch the Ace have taken off and with only 3 weeks till our first draw on January 4, time is running out to get a ticket. You can purchase tickets at the bar or online at byronlegioncatchtheace.ca. We will be holding card elimination on Sundays from 2-4 prior to the Catch the Ace draw beginning on Jan 4. You won’t want to miss your name being called.
Don’t forget our Food Drive that is underway. Please bring in your non-perishable donations from now until December 21. Items donated will be taken to the Byron United Church’s Food Bank on a weekly basis. Let’s surpass last year’s donations.
This week we will have a special Christmas surprise at all of our weekly events so come out and see what we have cooking. On Thursday this week, two bands, Critical Mass and Accrued Interest will be in the Clubroom for their annual Christmas friends and family event from 7-10 and you are welcome to join in the fun.
